Countdown to Leaky Con

WELCOME TO MUGGLETEEN

This is MuggleTeen, the first blog of it's kind, run by seven teenagers, about their love for Harry Potter. This supermegafoxyawesomehot blog is wizrock-tastic and full of the ramblings and rantings of me Megan (who is amazing and likes to make fun of Rob even though deep down somewhere he is a good person that she loves), Kate (the person who never posts), Annie (the Doctor lover...well, we all are, but...),Alyssa (who needed a better parenthesis explanation, so she made one xD), Katie (who also felt she needed a better parenthesis explanation, so she made one. I am not just 'a person!'), Sam (the anime lover and spider person who should maybe post now, yeah? is Thursday alright? -.-) , and Nicole (who has taken Sam's Spot on Friday and pushed Sam to thursday!) We're all members of the HPEF forums but that doesn't really matter now XD We are extremely excited to share our Potter-ness with the world and we will have many, many posts soon. So, until then, keep on Wizard Rockin'!!!

Music and Other Random Stuff

Lumos!

Bonjour, mes amis!

Haha, French is cool. =] So, 'tis Tuesday, so 'tis ma turn. =D I'm so glad I'm actually posting right now, I actually though about skipping today. I had the worst headache the whole day, I just wanted to go home and SLEEP. But I ended up taking some Tylenol (and eating some Twixes. =D), so now I'm all good. I felt disgusting the whole day, though. We had a surprise DBQ in Global and I felt like puking all over it. My teacher sure would've loved that. =]

I have some pretty awesome news this week! I'm going to the Harry Potter exhibition this Saturday in Boston. *is excited* Squee! Did anyone go there or to the one in Chicago? If so, leave a comment! Some bad news goes along with that, though. I have to miss a pit orchestra rehearsal. That's definitely not the best thing that's ever happened to me, as we have to learn around 40 different pieces of music by March. Doesn't that sound wonderful?

That little rant about pit leads wonderfully into the main part of my post this week, music. Music is such a huge part of my life that I just had to make a post about my love for it. I play a fair few instruments, my main one being the violin. I started playing in third grade, so it's been about six and a half years. I'm now the lead violin for the freshman orchestra and my conductor is moving me up to teh symphonic level, which is the highest you can go in my high school. I also play in the chamber ensemble and the pit orchestra (which, let me tell you, is HARD). I won a few awards in middle school for playing the violin, as well as one for music theory (which is basically writing music). Less importantly, I also play guitar and I know the basics of piano. I also just started sight singing, which I actually really like. I love to sing, but orchestra made me quit chorus and I don't have time for the school musicals anymore. I was a part of them for about four years (I even made the cut in middle school. MIRACLE), but I just don't have time for them anymore. Plus, I'd be way to scared to audition. It was scary enough when I was an upperclassman in teh middle school, being freshman and auditioning must be even worse. =/ Oh! And on the lighter side, I'm in a wrock band. XD We've only written about one and a half songs and my bandmate live about 2000 miles away from me, so it's not going to well. XD Yaay! Do any of you play and instrument? Sing? Into theatre? Leave it in the comments!

And now for Kate's Song of the Week! Drum roll, please! ... YES! Granger Danger! If you don't know what A Very Potter Musical is, you either are not a Harry Potter fan or live under a rock. I love this song! Basically, for those people that do live under rocks, it's a duet between Ron and Draco about falling in love with Hermione. PURE GENIUS. And just a little fun fact: A Very Potter Sequel is being performed at Infinitus! Who's pumped? Woot! Here's the link to the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwLVKIMamhA

And, finally, the question of the week!

How did you convince your parents to let you go to Infinitus?

Well, that's it for me! I hope you guys had a great weekend, and I'll post next week about the exhibition. See you tomorrow, Annie! =D

Votre chere amie,
Kate <3

Nox!

Awesome that you're so into music! Tis very cool (: I've been playing piano for nine years, but nothing really ever came out of it; I'm not in band or anything. I am in love with theater, though I've only been in my eighth grade musical ( as part of the choir, a narrator, actor, and had a solo ;D ), and a small little production at the library I live at - I mean, go to. Violin's so pretty; that must be awesome.

And yes! I've been to the exhibit! Let me tell you I nearly started crying when I saw Helena's Azkaban uniform. omh (oh my helena). It's so cool, you can get sorted and everything! I think I'll write about my own exhibit experience in my post this week, so we can compare and such! Hope you have funzies!

I've been a drummer for about 4 years now and I don't think I'll continue in High School though. It's awesome that you're so into music. It's also awesome that you got taught theory. My regular band teachers teaches theory to my class because he says it makes us play better. As for singing, I'm in my school's Glee club but I don't really like getting in front of crowds.

AVPM is awesome! Although my favorite song is Not Alone. I cannot wait for the sequel! It's going to be epic! Although I'm a little said because Podcast Palooza is at the same time and that would be fun to.
