The Only Place Made of More Awesome Than Kate World is Nerdfightaria

Oh my gosh! It's my first official Friday post! ... It's Saturday, you say? Not in Kate World. In Kate World, it is most definitely Friday. Also in Kate World, you can find wonderful clouds that are made of chocolate and rain Nerds (the candy, not the people. That would be awesome though.) as well as 100 feet birds that sing concertos. How amazing is Kate World?

First off, I want to welcome Alyssa to the staff! I only found about this five seconds ago from reading Megan's post, but it's still and extremely warm, if not surprised, welcome. I've Skype-ed with her once or twice as well as talked to her on HPEF, so I can vouch for her made of awesome-ness. =]

So let's talk about my week! I had dance an unhealthy amount of times, a stressful Global unit test as well as essay, and I had a total freak out over NYSSMA! Yaay! What a wonderful week. =P And I just realized that you don't know what NYSSMA is. Oops. It's basically a New York state test for musicians, only it's optional. I'm playing violin and this is my sixth year doing the test. I should be on level six, which is the highest, but last year I decided to repeat level four. Which was a pretty good decision, considering a learned that song in less than two weeks and only got a 23/28. This year I'm doing level five, which is pretty stressful, especially considering my other violin stress. I have a feeling I'm not going to be concertmistress for my spring concert. It's always been a tight race between me and two other violinists, and I've won for five concerts straight. I really don't know about this year, but I'll keep you updated. We're finding out or seats sometime next week, after we play a bit of Eine Kleine Nactmusik for a test. Trust me, you'd know the song if you heard it.

On to an amazing part of my week: Will Grayson, Will Grayson! It's a new book by John Green and David Levithan. I don't really want to spoil anyone, so I'll just recommend that you read it. Well, not if you're anti-gay. Then I definitely would not recommend it. It's an amazing book, though. I wrote a song about one of the main characters last night. It's totally awesome. =D

I'm pretty sure I had something else to say, but I don't remember what it is. I think it might have been about some school related thing, possibly about the quarter ending. I'll talk about that anyway. I'm nervous. The third quarter just ended, and that's the quarter when I stop caring about everything. I'm pretty sure all of my grades dropped. GAH. It sucks being a lazy, procrastinating Ravenclaw that is obsessed with grades. Then the last quarter is when I start freaking out and actually trying again. But then again, trying is vastly different in my book than anyone else's. In conclusion: school sucks. Except it doesn't ... I make no sense, so I'm going to go on with my weekly segment.

I almost forgot, but there was a specific song I wanted to talk about. I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. You've all heard it, so I'm not going to bother with a link. Okay, so who doesn't love this song? I've been working on a cover of it, which is why I wanted to talk about it. ... Except I don't have anything to say about it. Oh well. But it was mean to me. I worked on my cover so much that I forgot to practice for NYSSMA, which resulted in my current stress. I'm such a freaking moron for doing that. Really, the only reason I do NYSSMA is for colleges. I'm so sick of it. XP Wait, how did the segment verge onto NYSSMA? It's always on my mind! GAH!

So, I guess we don't have a question for this week. I'm not going to bother with one, we'll just start over with Alyssa asking a question tomorrow. Is that cool with everyone? Well, you're just going to have to deal with it anyway. =P So, I'm going to go read now. I just started The Last Song by Nicholas Spark, and it's actually pretty good. I was reading The Hobbit, but I got bored. So now I'm reading a pointless romance novel. Yaay for romance! It's basically the only reason I love Twilight. XD See you on Sunday, Alyssa!
